Following are some samples of wedding certificates I have designed. They were all done on 100% rag (archival) watercolor paper using permanent ink and either watercolor or egg tempera paint for the decoration. If requested, gold leafing is also available. The paper size varies according to the length of the vows and number of guests attending, but generally they are approximately 22" x 30".

The couples choose the calligraphic style and type of flower or motif they would like me to use. The design can be as simple or complex as the couple desires, and is not at all limited by the examples pictured here. If time permits, I send a detailed, full scale, rough draft for their inspection before I execute the final piece.

The prices vary as much as the size and style of decoration. The longer and more time consuming the certificate is, the more expensive it will be.  A simple unadorned certificate costs $200.00, and the most expensive and elaborate certificate that I have done has cost $900.00. I often advise a couple to tell me what they would like to spend, and I design the certificate within that range. I need at least six weeks in advance of the wedding to design and paint the certificate, but rush jobs are often possible for an extra fee, of approximately $75.00.

Some of these samples look a bit dark; I would like to apologize for the poor quality of some of these reproductions. They are scanned from color copies, as the pieces themselves are so large, and are no longer in my possession! In most cases, the paper I use is Saunders 100% rag watercolor paper, which has an ivory cast. That is the typical background color, although other papers are available if requested.
